The Summer Inn was getting fixed up for the season as we walked by that afternoon. 

Energy generating plant

This is the old energy generating plant in Haines; it was replaced by the cable from the hydroelectric generator in Skagway. 

I'm having a great time on this trip...honest!

Lorraine poked her head into the Fort William H Seward Bed and Breakfast (B&B) to check it out.

This is where we stayed for two nights while in Haines. 

Good Partner

This is my beached boat picture for this trip. This boat had been hauled out on the land between Beach Road and the Chilkoot Inlet (Lynn Canal), and the stern had proceeded to sag until the keel broke.

Ever the risk taker, Joe taunts fate and takes his chances on the shores of the Chilkat River. 

Leaving Canada

There's a small shelter built along the trail up the rock glacier.

This is the view from the rock glacier; we didn't hike all the way to the top because we wanted to get to Million Dollar Falls early, but the view from here was just fine.
